The Cynide, and nicotine.
THE CYNIDE.
One of the most popular poisons is cyanide. Cyanide is found in very common foods. It can be found in apple seeds, peach pits, and apricots.
When someone consumes cyanide, the strong smell of bitter almonds appears. Generally, death occurs between 30 and 50 minutes after ingestion or inhalation, due to respiratory paralysis. If the patient survives, recovery is rapid, although sequelae such as paralysis or Parkinson's may remain.
NICOTINE.
Just as many animals use poisons to deter predators, so do plants. The nicotine present in the tobacco plant protects it from certain insects, but it is not the only plant that produces nicotine.
It is a powerful poison and has even been used historically as an insecticide. In low concentrations, the substance is a stimulant and is one of the most common drugs in so-called "vappers" or electronic cigarettes.
